SAN FRANCISCO PALATES: Food Exploration
CONCEPT
SAN FRANCISCO PALATES is an imagined food service specific to San Francisco. Created as an alternative to YELP in order to help you find somewhere to eat without so many choices. It eliminates having to search up places and being distracted by all the different search results.
There are two ways you could use this service, by mail subscription or using the digital app. Both you would have to create an account either online or in the app itself.
For the mail subscription, every month you will receive an “edition” for whatever theme that month is. For instance, in the “sweets edition,” it features dessert places. You receive an envelope in the mail containing food cards listing the locations of dessert places for you to eat at. The mail subscription is a slower process and has you be away from your phone. This is great for people who want to be more in tune with the world around them and not always be getting their results instantly through the internet.
The digital app gives you more convenience and options as it will show you all the editions at once letting you choose whatever you are craving.
